That means your water isn’t just unclear—it carries living microorganisms that can affect everything from taste to safety in routine use. The Viqua Arros UV Water Sterilizer uses ultraviolet light to help reduce these organisms, treating flows up to 22 gallons per minute without chemicals.

Understanding What’s in Your Water

When a water test shows bacteria, viruses, or cysts present, you’re facing more than just cloudy water. These microorganisms can cause unpleasant tastes and odors and may lead to buildup that affects plumbing and appliances. The numbers on that lab report translate into real household issues: water that smells or tastes off, possible staining, and extra effort keeping fixtures clean.

How the Control Head Works to Protect Your Water

The heart of this system is its control head, which runs the ultraviolet lamp that disinfects your water. It uses an electronic ballast to power the lamp efficiently and a flow sensor to monitor water moving through the unit. This setup lets the controller warn you when it’s time to replace the lamp, keeping the sterilization process consistent and reliable without your needing to guess.

Why Ultraviolet Light is Effective for Well Water

Inside the sterilizer, UV-C light acts to inactivate bacteria and other microorganisms by disrupting their DNA, preventing them from reproducing and causing harm. Unlike filters, this method doesn’t trap or remove particles but neutralizes living contaminants directly in the water flow, so it’s a chemical-free way to reduce biological risks in well water.

Tank Design and Flow Capacity Options

The system comes with a vessel sized to fit your particular installation, which we confirm when we size your unit. You can choose from flow rates of about 9, 15, or 22 gallons per minute, covering a range from modest households to larger or light commercial properties. This flexibility means you get a sterilizer that can handle the demand of your water use without slowing your flow.

Who Should Consider This UV Water Sterilizer

This sterilizer suits homes or small businesses drawing from well water with detected biological contaminants. If your water demand matches the 9, 15, or 22 GPM flow options, and you want to reduce bacteria and viruses without chemicals, this system fits well. For much smaller or larger flows, a different size or additional equipment might be necessary.

What Comes with Your Viqua Arros UV Water Sterilizer

Each system includes the ultraviolet lamp and electronic controller installed in the treatment vessel tailored for your flow rate.
