How it works
The valve draws a pocket of air into the top of the tank. Water passes through the air, which oxidizes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide into particles, and the media bed filters them out. Every day the valve backwashes the bed, sends the trapped particles to drain and refreshes the air pocket.
Media benefits
- Removes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide (rotten-egg smell) in one tank
- Handles high flow rates in a compact tank
- Long media life
- Backwashes the trapped particles to drain automatically
- Air injection oxidizes iron, manganese and sulfur with plain air, so no chemicals or chlorine are added
Why this system costs what it does
| This system | Typical lower-priced kits | |
|---|---|---|
| Iron and sulfur treatment | Air injection: oxidizes with plain air, no chemicals | Often chlorine or permanganate feed, or no oxidation step |
| Filter design | Automatic daily backwash keeps the media bed clean | Often a non-backwashing upflow head or a cartridge housing |
| Bypass valve | 3/4" bypass included | Often not included or an extra option |
| Media | Named media, sized to the tank | Media type or amount often not stated |
| Delivery | Ships pre-built, ready to install | Often ships in pieces for you to assemble and load |
| Shipping | Free in the US | Free only above a minimum, or extra |

Ships preloaded and ready to install. The Katalox-Light media is already loaded in the tank and the control valve is mounted and set up at the factory, so there is no media to pour. Set it in place, connect it to your plumbing and plug it in.
The AIO 12" x 52" Katalox Filter delivers high-capacity, multi-contaminant treatment by combining premium Katalox Light media with an efficient Enpress Vortech tank. Designed for larger homes facing iron, manganese, and sulfur in their well water, this single-tank air injection system oxidizes and filters those contaminants for clean, clear water at every tap throughout the house.
Katalox Light is a high-performance media celebrated for its strong removal of oxidized iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide. The system's air pocket oxidizes these contaminants as water enters the tank, and the Katalox Light bed then captures them. The Enpress Vortech tank, with its specialized internal plate, improves backwash efficiency and helps reduce the amount of water used during the automatic daily regeneration run by the Fleck 2510SXT control valve.

The larger 12" tank gives this premium system the service flow and capacity to suit bigger households or properties with heavier contaminant loads. Katalox Light's versatility makes it especially valuable where manganese accompanies iron and sulfur, a combination that overwhelms simpler filters. The Vortech tank keeps regeneration water-efficient, and the included bypass valve simplifies service. Installing at the point of entry on the main line, this AIO Katalox system offers comprehensive, chemical-free, low-maintenance whole-house treatment for challenging well water.
For larger homes with complex well chemistry, the combination of a 12-inch tank and Katalox Light media is a powerful pairing, delivering both the capacity and the versatility to address iron, manganese, and sulfur together. The Vortech tank's efficient backwash keeps water use reasonable even at this larger size. Because multi-contaminant wells vary so much, a complete water test before buying ensures this system is correctly matched, after which it provides comprehensive, chemical-free treatment with the low maintenance the AIO platform is known for. Over time, addressing three contaminants in one tank saves both effort and the expense of running separate systems.
