How it works
The valve draws a pocket of air into the top of the tank. Water passes through the air, which oxidizes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide into particles, and the media bed filters them out. Every day the valve backwashes the bed, sends the trapped particles to drain and refreshes the air pocket.
Media benefits
- Removes dissolved iron: clear water with no orange or brown stains
- Protects fixtures, laundry, water heaters and appliances
- Daily automatic backwash sends the trapped iron to drain
- Air injection oxidizes iron, manganese and sulfur with plain air, so no chemicals or chlorine are added

How It Treats Your Water
The system uses air injection oxidation, drawing a pocket of air into the tank to convert dissolved iron into a solid, filterable form. The media bed captures these particles, and Control Flow Technology meters regeneration to actual household usage — backwashing only when needed to flush the iron and renew the air cushion. The entire process runs without salt, chlorine, or potassium permanganate, so there is nothing to refill between cycles.
The extra height of the 54-inch tank gives the media room to expand during backwash, keeping the bed clean and extending its service life over the years. Installed at the point of entry, the unit guards fixtures, laundry, and appliances against iron staining and gradual buildup. Supplied by Water Softener Plus, it arrives nearly ready to plumb — just add your chosen adapters — for dependable, efficient, low-maintenance iron control delivered straight to your door.
For best results, plan the installation near the point where water enters the home, ahead of any softener or under-sink filtration, so iron is removed before it can foul downstream equipment. A nearby drain is needed to carry away backwash water, and a standard electrical outlet powers the control head. Once commissioned, the system runs on its own schedule, and a quick periodic glance at the valve display is typically all the attention it requires from the homeowner.
Supplied and supported by Water Softener Plus, this -built system reflects the quality and consistency homeowners and installers have come to expect from the brand, giving you confidence in a long, dependable service life treating your home's water.
