How it works

The valve draws a pocket of air into the top of the tank. Water passes through the air, which oxidizes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide into particles, and the media bed filters them out. Every day the valve backwashes the bed, sends the trapped particles to drain and refreshes the air pocket.

Media benefits

  • Removes hydrogen sulfide: no rotten-egg smell
  • Stops black staining on fixtures and silverware
  • Daily automatic backwash keeps the bed clean
  • Air injection oxidizes iron, manganese and sulfur with plain air, so no chemicals or chlorine are added

Chemical-Free, Demand-Based

This system treats sulfur through air injection oxidation. A pocket of air held in the tank converts dissolved hydrogen sulfide into a filterable form, which the media bed traps and holds. Control Flow Technology meters regeneration to real household water use, so the system backwashes only when needed — flushing trapped sulfur to drain and refreshing the air cushion automatically. No salt, chlorine, or feed pumps are required at any point.

The 12-inch tank provides the flow capacity larger homes demand, while the generous 1-3/4 cubic feet of media supports strong, consistent odor control even under heavy use. Installed at the point of entry, it delivers fresh water to every fixture from a single connection. Supplied by Water Softener Plus, this parcel-ready configuration arrives nearly complete; add the plumbing adapters that fit your supply lines for a clean install and efficient, low-maintenance performance over the years.

When planning the install, locate the system at the point of entry ahead of any softener so hydrogen sulfide is removed before it reaches other equipment or the water heater. A nearby drain handles backwash discharge, and the control head plugs into a standard outlet. Because sulfur problems can fluctuate seasonally on some wells, the scheduled backwash keeps odor control steady even as conditions change throughout the year.

Whether you are upgrading aging equipment or treating a new well for the first time, this system from Water Softener Plus offers a proven, low-fuss path to cleaner water, backed by the trusted engineering behind every component in the package. It is a sound, lasting choice for any household ready to put its water-quality problems behind it for good.
